TERMS OF USE

Terms of Use

Adopted: October 21, 2026 · Version: 2026-10-21-v1

This document is an English translation of the Japanese original. In case of any discrepancy between the Japanese and English versions, the Japanese version prevails. Read the Japanese original

These Terms of Use (these "Terms") set out the conditions for using the Monogoo app and the public website (https://monogoo.com; invitation link pages are at https://link.monogoo.com) (together, the "Service") provided by Monogoo (the "Operator").

1. Agreeing to these Terms

You use the Service after agreeing to these Terms and reviewing the Privacy Policy. A contract of use under these Terms is formed between you and the Operator when you perform the consent action in the app. The Service is not directed at children under 13. If you use the app through the App Store or Google Play outside Japan, you must be 13 or older. Minors should use the Service with the consent of a parent or other legal guardian. Premium should also be bought with the consent of a legal guardian. The Operator does not ask for your date of birth. The age of users who use the App Store or Google Play outside Japan may be checked with information received from the store. If the store's information shows that you are under 13, or if a required parent's consent is missing, you cannot use the Service.

2. What the Service is

The Service lets you record the things in your home, purchase information, photos, documents (receipts, warranties and manuals), tags, memories, and schedules such as repeat purchases and contents insurance renewals, and total, look back on and export them. You can share a household with your family and others and record things together. The details of the features are as shown in the app.

3. Accounts

  • Using the app requires signing in with a Google or Apple account. Sign in with Apple is available on iPhone and iPad.
  • You must manage your own account and devices properly so that third parties cannot use them without authorization.
  • You may be unable to sign in to the Service because of failures, specification changes or account suspensions at Google or Apple.
  • You can delete your account from "Settings" → "Account" in the app. Deleted data cannot be restored. While your own household has members, remove their sharing before deleting. Content you added to other people's households remains in those households.

4. Plans

You can use the Free plan, which costs nothing, and Monogoo Premium ("Premium"), which is paid. The main differences are as follows. What is provided and the limits are as shown on the app's "Plan" screen.

FeatureFree (14 days of the Premium trial)Free (after the trial ends)Premium

Monthly numbers of items and uses are counted per calendar month in Japan time (from the 1st to the last day of each month). Numbers during the Premium trial are not included in the monthly numbers. If you switch between the Free plan and Premium within the same month after the Premium trial ends, the numbers before the switch are also counted. So in a month in which you buy Premium or your Premium ends, the numbers available to you may be smaller than in the table. An AI product suggestion counts as one use even if no suggestions could be created because of a timeout, failure or the like after processing started.

The Premium trial (14 days from the start of use) is provided by the Operator as part of the Free plan, and is not a store free trial. If you buy Premium during the Premium trial, Premium starts at that time. Buying does not extend the Premium trial period. When the Premium trial ends, you are not switched to Premium automatically and no charges start. You can keep using the Free plan without buying Premium. Changing plans does not delete the data you have saved.

5. Premium prices and automatic renewal

  • In Japan, the price is ¥480 a month or ¥4,800 a year (both including tax). In other countries and regions, the price is the price in the local currency shown by the App Store or Google Play of that country or region (how taxes apply depends on the country or region and on the store's rules). The actual price and billing period are as shown on the app's "Plan" screen and on the purchase confirmation screen of the App Store or Google Play.
  • The App Store or Google Play charges the store account used for the purchase.
  • Premium renews automatically at the period you chose unless you cancel.
  • You can cancel from "Settings" → "Plan" → "Manage subscription" in the app, or from subscription management in the App Store or Google Play. The next renewal stops if you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date on the App Store, or before the next renewal date on Google Play. Even after canceling, you can use Premium until the end of the period already paid for.
  • Deleting the app or your account does not cancel the subscription.
  • As a rule, we do not give refunds for personal reasons. Where the law requires a refund, or where a malfunction kept you from using Premium, we handle each case individually. You can also request a refund through the store where you bought it (Apple's or Google Play's refund procedures). If you bought on the App Store, Apple decides whether a refund can be given. For the procedures, see the "Specified Commercial Transactions Act notice." This item does not limit refund or other rights granted to you by the laws of your country or region.
  • After changing devices or reinstalling, you can restore your purchase with the same store account and Monogoo account you used when buying. If you buy or restore with the same store account from a different Monogoo account, Premium moves to that account and can no longer be used on the original account. Depending on the state of the store or account, you may be unable to restore.
  • Premium is an entitlement for each account. In a household whose owner has Premium, members can also use Schedule and Insights, see no ads, and add documents within the owner's storage, in that household only. The limits on adding new items and on AI product suggestions, and whether the Inventory CSV can be used, depend on the plan of the person performing the action. The owner's Premium trial does not apply to members.
  • When Premium ends, you return to the Free plan. Documents already added can still be used.

6. Sharing a household

  • A household's owner can share the household with an invitation link. People who join a household through an invitation link are called "members." A household can have up to 10 members and active invitations combined, not counting the owner. An invitation link can be used once, by one person, within 7 days of being created. Give invitation links only to the people you want to share with.
  • Members can see the household's items, tags, memories, photos and documents. They can also add and edit items, tags, memories and photos, delete tags and memories, and move items to the trash and restore them from it. They can view, download, send, rename and delete documents already added. Schedule and Insights can be used according to the member's own plan or the owner's Premium, as described in "4. Plans" and "5. Premium prices and automatic renewal."
  • Only the owner can change the household's name, time zone, currency (while it can be chosen again) and contents insurance settings, create and revoke invitations, remove members' sharing, delete the household, and permanently delete items from the trash.
  • When you join a household, your display name is shown to that household's owner and members.
  • Members can leave a household on their own. After a member leaves or their sharing is removed, the content, photos and documents the member added or edited remain in the household. Files a member saved to their device or sent to other apps cannot be deleted by the Operator.

7. Your content

You warrant that you hold the necessary rights to the text, photos, documents and other content you add, that it does not violate the law, and that it does not infringe the rights of third parties. If it includes information about other people, such as family members, obtain their consent. The rights to your content remain with you. You grant the Operator permission, to the extent needed to provide the Service, to store and show your content; to use it for image conversion, totals and notifications; to provide it to the owner and members of households you share; to send it to an outside AI service to create AI product suggestions; and to handle it for backups and responding to failures.

8. Photos and documents

  • Cover photos are stored as JPEG, and documents as JPEG, PNG or PDF. Images chosen from your photos or files are converted to these formats by the app before being sent. There are limits on the size of a file, the number of files, the number added per day and the like. The limits are as shown in the app.
  • Documents are stored as added, without virus checks or content review, and are delivered to the owner and members of the same household. Add only files you trust, and take care when opening files you receive.
  • If a file you added causes a problem with other users or third parties, you will resolve it at your own responsibility.
  • Where necessary, such as when we receive a report of a harmful file, the Operator may identify and delete the file concerned.

9. Trash and deletion

  • Items moved to the trash can be seen and restored by the household's owner and all its members for 30 days. After 30 days, they are permanently deleted automatically, together with their photos, documents and the like.
  • Tags and memories do not go to the trash; they are permanently deleted right away after you confirm.
  • Deleting a household does not go through the trash and cannot be undone.
  • Permanently deleted data cannot be restored. However, it may remain in records kept to prevent duplicate processing or to recover from mistaken operations and failures, for the periods set out in "6. Retention and deletion" of the Privacy Policy.

10. AI product suggestions

AI product suggestions ("Fill in from photo with AI") show, when you run them, suggestions for the product name, manufacturer and model number from a photo you chose on the screen for adding or editing an item, or from a saved cover photo. The photo is processed by an outside AI service (Google Cloud's generative AI). Suggestions may contain errors or omissions, and we do not guarantee that they are accurate or complete or that they match a particular product. Suggestions are not applied to the item until you choose one. A suggestion you choose is entered in the fields of the screen for adding or editing, and is saved to the item only when you check it and save.

The number of uses is limited as set out in "4. Plans." The feature may be temporarily unavailable because of failures, the suspension or change of the outside AI service, or restrictions for safety.

11. Ads

On the Free plan, ads are shown on the app's Home screen. They are not shown to Premium users, to users during the Premium trial, or in households whose owner has Premium. The content of ads and any dealings with advertisers are the advertisers' responsibility. The Operator does not guarantee the content of ads or the products and services of advertisers.

12. Amounts, insights and insurance information

Amounts are recorded and shown in each household's currency, and currencies are not converted. A household's currency is set from the device's time zone and region settings when the household is created, and is one of the Japanese yen, US dollar, Australian dollar, New Zealand dollar and Singapore dollar (the Japanese yen in a region that uses none of them, or when the region cannot be read). Members of the household also record amounts in its currency. The owner can choose the currency again only while the household has no items and no contents insurance records. Displays such as the total value, cost per day, trends and Value vs. coverage (the value of the items relative to the coverage) are reference information based on what you entered. They do not indicate market prices, fair value, replacement cost, asset valuations, tax or accounting judgments, the suitability of an insurance contract, or the amount of an insurance payment. For important decisions, consult professionals such as insurance companies and tax accountants.

13. Exporting and sending

Once you save the Inventory CSV, documents, share images or invitation links to your device or send them to other apps, they are managed by the place you saved or sent them to. Check the recipient and content before sending. The Operator cannot control the deletion or redistribution of information you have saved or sent.

14. Prohibited conduct

You must not do any of the following.

  • Acts contrary to the law, public order and morals, or the rights of third parties
  • Impersonating others, or obtaining or using accounts improperly
  • Adding or sharing personal information of third parties without their consent; photographing others without their consent and adding or sharing the photos
  • Adding or sharing files that contain viruses or other harmful programs
  • Giving invitation links to people unrelated to the household being shared
  • Placing an excessive load on the Service, servers or networks so as to disrupt the operation of the Service
  • Accessing without authorization, exploiting vulnerabilities, or getting around authentication, usage limits or other technical restrictions
  • Using the Service or its AI features for illegal, harmful or discriminatory purposes or to infringe rights
  • Any other conduct the Operator reasonably judges to be inappropriate

15. Suspension of use and deletion of accounts

If you violate these Terms, the Operator may, without prior notice, suspend your use of all or part of the Service or delete your account. However, we keep this to what is reasonable in light of the violation. In this case too, please cancel store subscriptions yourself in the store.

16. Changes to and suspension of the Service

The Operator may change, interrupt or end all or part of the Service for maintenance, failures, security needs, changes in laws or outside services, business decisions or the like. When ending the whole Service, except in an emergency, we will announce it in News in the app and on the website a reasonable period before the end date. In other cases with a large effect on users, we will try to let you know in advance by reasonable means.

If we change Premium's price, main features or important conditions to your disadvantage, we will let you know in advance in accordance with the law and each store's rules, and, as a rule, keep the main features before the change available during the period already bought. If they cannot be kept for unavoidable reasons, we will take reasonable measures in accordance with the law and each store's rules, such as providing alternative features, extending the period, or guiding you through refund procedures.

17. Intellectual property

The rights to the Service's software, design, logos, text and the like belong to the Operator or their rightful holders. These Terms do not transfer to you any rights beyond the scope needed for use.

18. Warranties and liability

The Operator does not guarantee that the Service is always available, free of defects and interruptions, fit for your particular purposes, or that data will not be lost. However, the Operator takes necessary and appropriate security measures for the data it handles, in accordance with the law.

The Operator is not liable for damage arising from your own actions, such as entering, deleting or sharing content or adding files, from opening files you received, from your management of your devices and credentials, from your choice of recipients, or from decisions based on reference information, to the extent that the damage is not attributable to the Operator.

If you suffer damage for reasons attributable to the Operator, the Operator is liable in accordance with the law. Only where it is caused by the Operator's slight negligence, that liability is limited to damage that arises ordinarily and directly. This limitation does not apply where the law does not allow liability to be limited, such as in cases of the Operator's intent or gross negligence.

19. Changes to these Terms

The Operator may change these Terms in accordance with the provisions of Japan's Civil Code on changing standard terms. When changing them, we will announce on the Service's screens or the website, before the date the change takes effect, that they are being changed, the content after the change, and the date it takes effect. For changes with a significant effect on your rights or obligations, we will also let you know in the app and, where necessary, ask for your agreement again. The content of this version is always available at https://monogoo.com/terms/versions/2026-10-21-v1 (the Japanese original; this translation is at https://monogoo.com/en/terms/versions/2026-10-21-v1).

20. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. However, for consumers who live in countries or regions other than Japan, the provisions of the laws of their country or region that protect consumers and cannot be excluded by agreement also apply. For disputes about the Service, the court with jurisdiction under the law is the court of first instance.

21. Contact

For questions about the Service or these Terms, please use the inquiry form. If you cannot use the form, contact us at support@monogoo.com. We accept inquiries in Japanese and English (the English inquiry form is at https://monogoo.com/en/support).

22. Language of these Terms

These Terms are written in Japanese. An English translation is also provided, but in case of any discrepancy between the Japanese and English versions, the Japanese version prevails.
